Getting started

What is InCynq?
InCynq is a social platform built for Second Life residents. It solves the group chat spam problem — instead of noisy SL group messages, you follow the brands and people you care about and only see content that matches your interests.
Is InCynq free for members?
Yes, completely free. No subscription, no paywall, no catch. You will see sponsored posts from brands, but only if they match your chosen interests. Members never pay anything to register or use the platform.
Do I need a Second Life account to join?
Yes. A valid SL account is required to register. This is how we confirm you are a real person and not a fake or bot account. Your SL avatar name becomes your InCynq username.
Does InCynq need my Second Life password?
Never. InCynq has its own separate password. We will never ask for your SL password. If anyone claiming to be InCynq asks for it, it is a scam.
How do I activate my account after registering?
After registering you will see a Pending Activation screen. Visit an InCynq terminal inworld in Second Life and tap it. The terminal confirms it is really you. Come back to the app and your account activates automatically.
What is the minimum age?
16 — the same as Second Life. Adult-rated location ads require you to be 18 or over and SL adult-verified.
Do I get any welcome credit when I join?
Yes. Every new member receives 100 L$ welcome credit on activation. This can be used to boost your first event. It never expires.
Does InCynq use an algorithm?
No. InCynq has no algorithm. Your feed shows content from the people and brands you follow, in chronological order. No hidden ranking, no shadowbanning, no "we think you might like this". What you follow is exactly what you see — nothing more, nothing less.

Your feed & posts

Why don't I see posts from everyone?
By design. InCynq only shows you posts from people and brands you follow, matched to your interest groups. No algorithm deciding what is popular — just the things you chose to follow.
Why am I seeing sponsored posts?
Brands pay to appear in feeds. You only ever see sponsored posts if the brand's chosen interest groups match yours. No random ads — only things relevant to your SL interests.
Can I post links or SLurls?
No. Links and SLurls are not allowed in regular posts — this keeps the feed spam-free. Brands can include teleport links and Marketplace links in paid ads only.
Can I post explicit or adult content?
No. InCynq is not an adult content platform. Explicit, nude, or sexually suggestive content is not permitted in posts under any circumstances. Adult verification does not change this. Any explicit post will be removed immediately and the account suspended.
What happens when I report a post?
The post is immediately auto-hidden for you and goes to our manual review queue. We review every single report ourselves. It is completely anonymous.

Events

Can I post events for free?
Yes. Creating and posting events is completely free for all members and brands. You only pay if you want to boost your event for more visibility.
How does event boosting work?
On your event, tap Boost. Choose a tier and the number of days you want to boost. The cost is deducted from your InCynq wallet. If your balance is too low, you will be prompted to top up inworld.
What are the event boost prices?
⚡ Basic: 100 L$/day. ⭐ Featured: 250 L$/day. 👑 Premium: 500 L$/day. You can boost for 1, 2, or 3 days.

Wallet & referrals

What can I use my wallet for as a member?
Boosting your own events. That is it — members cannot place feed ads. If you want the full advertising suite you need to upgrade to a brand account.
How do I top up my wallet?
Find an InCynq ATM inworld in Second Life and follow the instructions. Your wallet updates automatically within seconds.
Are wallet credits refundable?
No. All L$ deposited to your InCynq wallet is non-refundable. It has no cash value and cannot be transferred to another account. Only top up what you plan to spend.
Does the welcome credit expire?
No. Your 100 L$ welcome credit never expires.
How does the referral programme work?
Share your unique referral link from your profile. When a friend signs up using your link and activates their account inworld, you earn 10 L$ credited directly to your wallet. You can earn rewards for up to 10 successful referrals per calendar month — that resets on the 1st of each month.
What counts as a successful referral?
A successful referral is when someone signs up using your link AND activates their account by tapping an InCynq terminal inworld. You are paid 10 L$ when they activate, not when they register.

Safety & privacy

How does InCynq verify members?
Every member must have a valid SL account and activate inworld via an InCynq terminal. The terminal reads your SL avatar identity directly. No anonymous accounts, no fake profiles.
What content is completely banned?
Anything involving minors, hate speech, harassment, impersonation, spam, explicit content, and scams. Zero tolerance — permanent ban and reported to authorities where required by law.
Does InCynq sell my data?
Never. InCynq is operated from Ireland under EU GDPR. We collect only what is needed to run the platform. We do not sell, share, or trade your personal data with anyone.
Can brands see who viewed their content?
No. Brands see how many people viewed — total and unique — but not which specific users. Individual viewer identities are never exposed in the brand dashboard. This is enforced at the database level.
How do I delete my account?
Go to your profile → tap the ⚙️ settings icon → scroll to Danger Zone → Delete Account. You have a 14-day cool-off period to change your mind. After that, everything is permanently deleted. This fulfils your right to erasure under GDPR.
Are suspensions automatic?
No. Every suspension is a manual decision by the InCynq team after reviewing a report. Reports auto-hide content but nothing else happens until a human makes a call.

Notifications & the app

What are push notifications?
Push notifications are alerts that appear on your phone even when you're not in the app. InCynq sends them for meaningful events only — new events from brands you follow, event reminders when you've RSVP'd, new followers, and important announcements from InCynq Official.
How do I turn push notifications on or off?
Settings → Push Notifications. One toggle — on or off. That's it. InCynq keeps notifications minimal by design — you'll never be spammed.
Does InCynq show ads from outside companies?
No. The only sponsored content you see comes from Second Life brands within InCynq, matched to your own chosen interest groups. No third-party advertising. Ever.
Can I install InCynq on my phone like a real app?
Yes. InCynq is a Progressive Web App — you can add it to your home screen and it launches fullscreen just like a native app. See the Install page for step-by-step instructions for Android and iPhone.

For brands

Setting up a brand account

What do I need before creating a brand account?
A member account on InCynq. Brand accounts are always linked to a personal member account. You manage both from one login.
How do I create a brand account?
Settings → Add Brand Account. Fill in your brand name, description, logo, and brand email. Pay the 3,500 L$ activation fee using an InCynq ATM inworld. That 3,500 L$ goes directly into your Brand Wallet as ad credit — nothing is wasted.
Can I have more than one brand account?
Not in the current version. One member account, one brand account, linked together.
What is the Brand Team feature?
You can invite one Manager to help run your brand account. A manager can post, create events, boost, manage ads, top up the wallet, and reply to comments. They cannot delete the brand, invite others, or transfer ownership.
Does a manager use their own wallet to place ads?
No. All spending by a manager — ads, event boosts, and any other L$ charges — is deducted from the brand owner's Brand Wallet. The manager's own InCynq wallet is never touched.

Advertising

How does InCynq advertising work?
You create ads that appear in the feed for members who match your chosen interest groups. Members only see your ad if they have joined at least one of the groups you targeted. No wasted reach.
What are the ad tiers and reach?
There are three ad plans: Basic (highlighted in search and explore), Featured (injected in feed), and Premium (top story + feed + explore). Pricing is tiered by platform size — the current tier and pricing are always shown in the Advertise section of the app. Reach estimates update automatically as InCynq grows.
How does interest group targeting work?
You pick which interest groups see your ad. Members only see it if they have joined at least one of your chosen groups. Pricing scales with the number of groups: 1 group = base price, 2 groups = 1.8×, 3 groups = 2.5×, 4 or more groups = 3× (capped).
What is Random Rotation?
When you select 2 or more interest groups, you can enable Random Rotation. Your ad rotates through your selected groups randomly instead of targeting all simultaneously. This costs 25% less — good for broad reach on a tighter budget.
Will ad prices increase over time?
Yes. Pricing adjusts automatically based on the size of the InCynq community — as we grow, everyone moves to the next tier together. Brands that join early benefit from lower tiers until the community reaches the next threshold. The current tier is always visible in the Advertise section.
Can I get a refund on ad spend?
No. Once L$ is charged for an ad, it cannot be reversed. The no-refunds notice is shown clearly at every payment step before you confirm.

Brand wallet

What is the Brand Wallet?
A L$ balance held on InCynq, used for running ads, boosting events, and optional paid features like the Dashboard Upgrade. It is created automatically when you activate your brand account. The 3,500 L$ activation fee becomes your opening balance.
How do I top up my Brand Wallet?
In the Advertise tab, tap Top Up. Choose an amount, receive a unique payment code, find an InCynq ATM inworld and follow the instructions. Your wallet updates automatically.
Are wallet balances refundable?
No. All wallet L$ is non-refundable. This applies to activation fees, ad spend, event boosts, Cynqified application fees, and Dashboard Upgrade subscriptions. Only top up what you plan to spend.

Cynqified verification

What is the Cynqified badge?
The ⚡ Cynqified badge is InCynq's brand verification. It tells the community you have been manually reviewed and confirmed as a legitimate Second Life brand. It shows on your profile, your posts, and your ads.
How do I apply for Cynqified?
Settings → Get Cynqified. Fill in your SL location or Marketplace URL, a description of your brand, and how long you have been in Second Life. The 1,500 L$ application fee is charged on submission. We review within 24–48 hours.
Is the application fee refundable if rejected?
No. The 1,500 L$ is non-refundable whether approved or rejected. Make sure your application is complete and accurate before submitting.

Brand dashboard

What does the free dashboard include?
Last 30 days of: total post views, impressions, unique viewers, profile visits, new followers, total followers. A 7-day view trend chart. Your top 3 posts by views. Every brand gets this for free — no setup needed.
What is the Dashboard Upgrade?
A paid add-on that unlocks deeper insights: engagement rates, view-through rates, peak viewing hours, best day of week, 90-day extended stats, full post rankings, and audience behaviour data. 500 L$ per month, billed from your Brand Wallet.
Can I cancel the Dashboard Upgrade?
Yes, anytime. Your upgrade stays active until the end of the current 30-day cycle — you're not charged again. No prorated refunds.

Safety & enforcement

Are there automated suspensions for brands?
No. We do not auto-suspend anyone based on report counts or algorithms. Every action is a manual decision made by the InCynq team.
Can I appeal a suspension?
Yes. Contact legal@incynq.net with your brand name and the reason you believe the suspension was issued in error. We aim to respond within 48 hours.

Can I request a custom brand #tag?
Yes. If you'd like a specific #tag associated with your brand — for example #YourBrandName — get in touch via the contact form. Select 'Brand Support' and choose 'Advertising' as the topic. Tell us the tag you'd like and we'll review it. Custom tags are subject to availability and approval. We'll confirm or suggest an alternative within 48–72 hours.
How do I appeal a suspension as a brand?
Email legal@incynq.net with your brand name and the reason you believe the suspension was issued in error. We aim to respond within 48 hours.
